The Hohenwarter family have been managing the Grieserbäck in Gries im Pinzgau since it was founded as a modern family business in 1960. The craftsmanship of the baker is a vocation and passion all in one. Now in its third generation, fresh pastries, crunchy bread and delicious sweet treats are all made from high quality ingredients at the Grieserbäck im Pinzgau. Hand-made, as always.

Founding of the bakery in Gries im Pinzgau. The importance of a bakery in this rural area to the people who live here was recognised by the Hohenwarter family and they started out by making fresh bread and traditional pastries.

Relocation to the main building in Gries. The bakery was developing well and the transfer to the main building provided more space for production and sales. This site is still owned by the company today.

First branch in Bruck. Demand for fresh bread and different pastries continued to grow and another branch was opened in neighbouring Bruck on the Glocknerstrasse.

1992

Change of generations. After over 30 years, the management of the bakery was handed down to the next generation of the Hohenwarter family. The business developed very well and new investments were made.

2002

Change of ovens. In 2002, the company switched over from oil-fired ovens to electric ovens. The business is always striving to operate in a resource-saving and sustainable manner and is setting the standard when it comes to environmental awareness.

2003

Relocation to the new branch in Bruck. The branch moved into the site in the centre of Bruck, right alongside the church. This is still a popular meeting place for guests and locals alike today and fresh produce is delivered here daily.

2010

Changeover to geothermal energy. The next step, based on the concept of environmental awareness, was made. In 2010, energy provision switched over to geothermal heat.

Philosophy

The Grieserbäck was founded in 1960 and is now in its third generation of management. The concept has always been based on regional ingredients, high-quality flour and tried-and-trusted recipes with modern influences. The craft of the baker is both a profession and a calling at the same time. In addition to handed-down family recipes, fresh new products are also regularly featured in the assortment. The focus is on products which are sustainable, lasting and appealing. Different cereal varieties create healthy, nutritious and delicious bread.
